2nd, 2010- Monaco Grand Prix & Cannes Film Fest.
The
Monaco Grand Prix , for those of you who’ve never experienced it, was the
epitome of opulence. The MF set the backdrop as rich and the famous
watched the Formula 1 cars chase each other around the legendary Monaco
track. The parties lasted well into the night and the hideous karaoke
singers’ screeches’ bellowed in day break. It was
nothing short of a glamorous spectacle and quite an experience for both the
crew and guests onboard that week.
Without
a minute to spare, the Falcon was off around the bay after the Grand Prix to
tap in to the Cannes Scene. Every year the Cannes Film Festival attracts
thousands of people trying to catch a glimpse of the back of a celeb’s
head, or at least glam up enough to feel a little like a star themselves.
We sat on anchor in the bay of Cannes lit up like a night at the Oscars and in
honor of the premier night of Shrek 4, we projected the original Shrek onto one
of the massive square sails on the mizzen mast. I have to say, slopped in
a giant bean bag watching the green ogre up on the big screen, outdoors beat
any Cannes exclusive screening. You can’t outdo the Maltese Falcon
cinema experience!
